Following many enchanting holidays visiting
France and tasting wines all over the country we decided to turn our hobby
into a business venture in 2005. We retired from our jobs in Cardiff, Karin
as a solicitor and Simon as a project manager and started our search for the
perfect location and property. We fell in love with the Loire region for its beauty and diversification
of interests and, after much endeavour, purchased the idyllic Le Manoir,
nestling in the vineyards of the area between the Anjou and Saumur AOC. Over the past two years we have concentrated our energies into renovating
the house and grounds and converting the old stables into three contemporary
suites for our guests. In between the rigours of building work we have taken great pleasure in
establishing contacts with wine producers and tasting countless local wines.
The knowledge gained enables us to offer a truly memorable experience to our
guests. We have arranged tours with the assistance of the local winemaker’s
association to ensure that our guests enjoy the full diversity of the wines
of the region. 2007 is our first year and we look forward
